Pricing Structure

--All custom work is $100 an hour + materials, shop supplies and tax. Stainless tube and Titanium fabrication is $110 an hour due to the added cost of back purging, cleaning chemicals etc. There is a 1-hour shop minimum regardless of task. Welding gas and other consumables are not cheap, so the shop materials and supplies are charged 3% of billed labor. Shop supplies include use of equipment, bandsaw blades, sanding belts, acetone, filler rod, tungsten and many other consumables required in metal fabrication. It adds up quickly which is why I have this fee.  Estimates for custom work are very time consuming.  I will build a material list for your project, but I will not quote labor on most projects. I am honest with my customers, and I will not charge non billable hours. I strive to keep customer relations a top priority which also includes consistent and frequent communication. As projects progress, I will be in contact every step of the way to update you about progress and any changes.

Getting on my schedule requires a $500 deposit prior to making an appointment. This deposit is nonrefundable under any circumstances but is applied towards your final bill. This fee is put in place to show a commitment as a customer follow through with your appointment as scheduled. I have a very tight schedule and I count on every customer to be reliable in dropping off a vehicle at their scheduled time for work. When you vacate your reservation at the last minute, it creates unnecessary stress trying to move the rest of my clients around to fill that spot. When there are empty spots in my schedule, there is no income to provide for my family and I will no longer be taken advantage of for my kindness.

In addition to the deposit to schedule a spot on my schedule, I require all materials to be paid in full no later than 2 weeks prior to drop off. This allows me to order all materials needed for your project so that there is no down time waiting on parts while your vehicle is taking up space in the shop. If you surrender your reservation after materials have been paid for and delivered, there will be a fee applied which is calculated at 10% of the total materials cost before releasing materials back to you. It takes time and experience to build and order a complete detailed materials list which I will not do for free. I will bill you every 1-2 weeks depending on the scope of the project. I will also not drag out projects longer than they need to take because you are waiting on funds to pay me. I expect that you have planned your project accordingly and that you have the funds available to pay for the work when it is completed.

Upon completion of your project, you will receive a final bill with a breakdown of materials and billable labor hours as well as the application of the 3% shop materials and supplies fee. This bill must be satisfied BEFORE anything leaves the shop. I will not, under any circumstances, release anything until this balance is paid.

This is a very specialized trade skill and I take great pride in everything that goes out my door. I refuse to cut corners to satisfy a naive budget. I will not use cheaply made materials at the cost of providing an inferior product. If you are looking for services and products to be cheap, then I am not the shop for you. I will not try to reduce my prices because “you could have done this job yourself”, or “I could have done that job in half the time”, or because “My buddy is a welder”. If you are not willing to respect my rates and my time, you are welcome to do the job yourself. I am not here to do the cheapest work around just to make something work for you. I am running a business which must provide for myself and my family. This is not a side hobby I do just for fun. I welcome anyone to get estimates from someone else who can produce an equal product that meets the same quality standards as mine inside and out, as well as having personal communication and relationships with customers.

Please keep in mind that if you bring me a running car and you want custom replacement parts, there is labor involved in removing existing parts before I can start to build my own. This process is not free time. There is a possibility that in the process of disassembling factory/used parts, that I will run into issues with seized bolts, broken parts, rounded bolt heads, stripped threads etc. These situations are not predictable but are common and I will not eat the cost of the time it takes to navigate these situations. I will communicate these problems as soon as possible so that there are no surprises when you receive your final bill. If you are familiar with your vehicle, please plan to order replacement parts as necessary.

.
When we are able to discuss your project in depth, we will make a build sheet which specifies all your requirements and ideas. I will communicate throughout the project as I complete various elements of the build so that you are never left in the dark. As I encounter potential obstacles, I will make you aware as soon as I can so that we can navigate and move forward. I will always offer my input and solutions to such problems and what I feel to be the most suitable correction. As we work as a team, I expect the courtesy of trusting my judgement as a professional fabricator. As any project has the potential for unforeseeable problems, I will do my best to address these issues in a well thought out way. I will not, under any circumstances, do a half assed job trying to work around a problem because you want a quick easy fix. At the end of the day, everything that goes out my door has my name on it. I will not produce a product that looks cheap or like it was an afterthought. It is obvious to other builders and automotive enthusiasts when someone cuts corners to make things “functional” instead of doing things the right way. I am a very flexible, easy going individual and I will work with you to the best of my abilities, but if there is an excessive amount of time wasted waiting on decisions to be made, I will not hesitate to tell you to come get your car if I feel there is no way to satisfy you.

When you bring me a car with aftermarket parts already installed, it may hinder my ability to give you what you want as I will have to work within the limitations of what the parts allow. I don't always see these problems in the beginning but if this occurs and what needs to be done doesn't line up to what you want, we can discuss it at that point.  If at any point, we scrap parts and redo something, I am NOT going to eat the cost. When we are putting together a build sheet, I do have preferences on parts and manufacturers because of product quality, ease of installation, customer support etc. It is always best if I can order all necessary parts because as a builder, I know exactly what Parts are needed and where to get them. I will not sacrifice my quality of work to accommodate cheap parts that you acquired prior. This almost always translates to more difficulty with installation or with a sub-par finished product because of cheap materials or because the parts do not fit the application. As everything I do is custom work, I do not and will not make use of any pre purchased “kits”. Turbo kits, roll cage kits etc. are often too universal and are more of a headache trying to fit my vision. I like everything I do to fit tight and in the most convenient way possible. These “kits” just do not provide the finished product that I desire.

My goal is to meet and exceed your expectations through open communication and personal interactions. I truly love what I do, and I hope that you are reaching out because you feel the same way about your project. I take extreme pride in everything I do as it is a form of art. I am not trying to make millions of dollars though my services, though I do feel that my time is valuable, and I expect to be compensated fairly. If you have social media, follow me on Instagram @apexfabcolorado, or on Facebook @ Apex Fabrication. I try to keep content as up to date as possible though sometimes with the workload that is not possible. I love what I do, and I look forward to working with you and giving you a finished product you will be proud of.
